Monuments and other interesting sites

This tourist directory, barring errors and omissions, presents the information provided by the organizations and agents therein. The Guadalajara City Council will not be liable for the expectations generated by such information.

Next are detailed the accessible tourism resources of Guadalajara according to facilities available depending on the type of disability.

Civil architecture

Fortress

  • Outside access route without difficulty.
  • Indoor tours routed along walkways: the final section on uneven and uncompacted paving.
  • Toilets with facilities for the disabled.

The Alcázar Real will remain closed temporarily until the completion of a Management Plan of the monument itself.


Fort of San Francisco

The panoramic view of the Fort of San Francisco from calle Zaragoza presents no difficulties.

Both access to the fort and the tour itself present difficulties for the disabled.


Palace of the Countess of La Vega del Pozo

  • Outside route without difficulties.

Provincial Council Building

  • Panoramic view.
  • Outside route without difficulties.

Palace of El Infantado

  • Separate entry for wheel chair users.
  • Lift access to the upper floor. Ask for assistance.
  • WC with facilities for the disabled.

Tower of El Alamín

  • There is a steep ramp at the entry to the Tower.
  • Access to the upper floor is by spiral staircase only .

City Hall

  • Easy indoor and outdoor tours.
  • Panoramic view.

Palace of Dávalos

  • Panoramic view.
  • Easy access to the public library and the upper levels.

Palace of La Cotilla

The Palace of La Cotilla will be closed for maintenance during the month of August. We apologise for the inconvenience.

  • Outside route with difficulties.
  • There is a step up at the main entrance.
  • Lift to upper floor.
  • WC with facilities for the disabled.

Mausoleum of the Countess of La Vega del Pozo

  • Outside route without difficulties.
  • There are three sets of stairways to access the mausoleum.

Gate of Bejanque

  • Panoramic view.
  • Outside route without difficulties.

Tower of Alvar Fáñez

  • Access to the ground floor without difficulties.
  • The way down to the lower floor is on a slope, creating difficulties for the disabled (access to the Park of La Huerta de San Antonio).

Co-cathedral of Santa María

  • Difficult approach route.
  • There is a step at the entrance door.

Convent of La Piedad

  • Approach route with difficulties.
  • Both the access to the convent and the inside tour present difficulties.

Church of Santiago

  • There is a step at the entrance.
  • Access to the main floor is by way of an angled platform.

Chapel of Luis de Lucena
